The prelims have been scheduled over two days, namely November 22 and 23, with thousands of candidates attending the first stage of the examination.
The candidates who attempted Shift 4 reported the overall exam difficulty as moderate, which was very close to what had been experienced in other shifts.
Overall Difficulty Level
The students considered the paper manageable with the majority of questions falling in the easy to moderate range. The Reasoning Ability part was pretty smooth, and the Quantitative Aptitude part, although in the same time-consuming category, was more difficult due to the lengthy DI (Data Interpretation) questions.
Section-Wise Analysis
Reasoning Ability
The candidates obseved that the reasoning section had a balanced mixture of puzzles and direct questions. The topics included sequence and seating arrangement puzzles, age-related puzzles, floor puzzles, direction sense, inequality, order and ranking, and coding-decoding. The majority of test-takers found the section to be predictable and moderately easier when compared to Quantitative Aptitude.
Quantitative Aptitude
The section was estimated to be moderate as a whole, but there were quite a few questions that involved lengthy calculations. Data Interpretation problems like table-based DI, bar graph DI, and caselets consumed a lot of time. The other areas covered were approximation, quadratic equations, and arithmetic word problems. Candidates mentioned that managing time effectively was very important in doing well.
Exam Pattern Summary
The prelims of IBPS RRB PO have two parts, Reasoning Ability and Numerical Ability, which have a total of 80 questions to be completed in 45 minutes. Moreover, the pattern remained the same as the previous years.
Advice for Tomorrow's Candidates
The exam takers for the November 23 test are recommended to get to the test center ahead of time and to have all necessary documents, such as the admit card, photo ID proof, and any other items specified by the IBPS, with them.
It will be so important to maintain speed along with precision especially in the Quantitative Aptitude section where some questions might need extra time for solving.
